When a group of some thirty Orlando businessmen were approached to form this club in 1960, they were made aware of the lofty ideals and objectives of Kiwanis International.
Many of these men were, or had been members of other civic clubs that had become “knife and fork” groups whose accomplishments were frequently measured by good fellowship and increasing waistlines.
In a “no nonsense meeting” to finally determine whether to chart this club, it was decided that every current and prospective member must become committed to one hundred percent involvement in some phase of the club’s effort to improve our community.
The club’s current membership have evolved into a fraternal-like organization responsible for the many contributions to our community through their spirit and effort. |
